Invited Speaker---Dr. Marius Buerkle

Dr. Marius Buerkle, Senior Researcher, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan
Dr. Buerkle received his Ph.D in physics from the University Karlsruhe, Germany in 2011. After postdoctoral research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technolog (KIT), in 2012 he joined the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan as a JSPS fellow working on nanostructured thermoelectric materials. Since 2015, he is a full staff member at AIST and became a senior researcher in 2017that involves in several national and international projects on the development of novel functional materials. Presently he is working on high-throughput simulations of charge and heat transport through nanostructured materials and molecular electronics as well as machine-learning algorithms for condensed matter physics problems.
Speech Title: How to Probe the Limits of the Wiedemann–Franz Law at Nanoscale
